GIMME SHELTER PORTLAND CAMPAIGN LAUNCH RECEIVES OVERWHELMING RESPONSE!

Less than one month after the GSP website and campaign launch, the sentiment for replacing Multnomah County Animal Services’ outdated model has been overwhelmingly positive!

Examples of feedback include, “Thank you …it’s about time someone tackled this problem head-on!”, “I have been waiting for ten years to participate in a movement for change.” and “We applaud your effort, we are e-mailing and calling county officials, please don’t give up!”

  1. I was so excited to see your ad in The Wilammette Week. I am totally inspired to help move this cause forward. I had no idea that Multnomah County euthanizes 50% of their animals. How tragic. While I think a major cultural shift is necessary where we evolve to a point where we actually respect animals and don’t view them as disposable commodities that are to be used and discarded according to our whims, I also think many shelters have fallen into a lackadaisical complacent attitude that permeates how they operate on a daily basis. There’s got to be a betterway and I’m excited to explore this site further.
